The Ruddy Fox crew was created in April 1989 by Domino and S. aka Ninja, in close relation with the Ducky Boys and the Redskins from the Halles area. Ninja has indeed been moving in the 50s scene and was at the time connected to the "Crazy Boys" as well as he took part in the birth of the famous Ducky, formerly called "the New Brothers". Group actions began to be known in late 89. The crew differed from its fellow fighters by wearing a patch that bore an Apache face on a yellow background, which one won them for a while the nickname of "Indians". In 1990, the crew was taking many forms. It was composed of fighting sports addicts and activists from several musical trends (Hardcore, Hip Hop, Dancehall, House). In order to give more coherence to this eclectic meeting of people who were originally issued from different parisian groups (Cobra, Ducky, Ckc, Dockers, Reds...), the Ruddies decided to adopt the original Skinhead look and started to appropriate themselves the Reggae, Soul and Rock culture belonging to the famous English urban movement. The aim of their struggle is clear and transcends the violence : Take back a movement that right from the start wasn't racist at all and drive all the gangs known as neo-nazi away. First step was to keep them away from concerts and the street life in general. Ruddy Fox' position was in fact totally against racial discriminations in all kinds, from racial attacks to some type of color wearing as a clear identification with nazi ideas. The group is pluriracial and accepts all religion kinds, that is why it is the reflect of the town is living in. It distinguishes itself by the charisma of its members but also by the rejection of communitarianism and political autonomy. |
